COMMUNISM AND ELECTIONS

Communism (Marxism) is an ideology which espouses “Dialectical Materialism.”

It is anchored on the theory that society is divided into two (2) classes of people – the oppressor and the oppressed – and the interests of these two (2) classes are diametrically against each other, resulting to conflict.

Communists believe that this conflict will inevitably result to violence until finally Communism is achieved.

To Communists, change in society will always be dialectical or cataclysmic. It means violent revolution, and revolution involves killings, bombings, arson, and terrorism.

Communists never expect that change in society will result from peaceful means, including peace negotiations and elections.

Then why do Communists participate in elections?

Teddy Casiño, a card-bearing Communist is a candidate for senator. Communist Partylist Groups such as Bayan Muna, Anakpawis, Gabriela, Kabataan, ACT-Teachers, PISTON, Katribu, Kalikasan, Akap-Bata and Migrante want to be elected to Congress. Communists do not believe in elections because “Dialectics” means revolution.

Are Casiño, Colmenares of Bayan Muna, Mariano of Anakpawis and the rest of their cabal still Communists? Have they finally realized that Communism is false? A mistaken idea of a pseudo-social scientist of long years past?

If so, why is it that they still believe in armed struggle? Why do they give 60% of their Priority Development Assistance Fund to the New People’s Army?

Pray tell me.

    • Yes, the likes of Teddy Casino are using the elections to get into the parliamentary system. In this way, they can climb their way towards a top position in the government and then, eventually, destroy our status quo and promote the principles of CPP-NPA. We should not vote a candidate like him.
